Growing Up Black documents domestic life in Hackney, East London during the 1960s and 70s. Dennis Morris moved to Hackney with his family when he was four, and began his career as a photographer aged just 11 years old. Images from Morris' extensive archive are brought together in a beautifully-designed photography book, capturing intimate moments within the black community. Presented in a hand-finished clamshell case, this hardcover monograph contains a signed print of Morris' iconic photograph Dalston Boys, taken in Hackney in 1975.

Featuring texts by Professor Stuart Hall, Gary Younge, Kobena Mercer, Dennis Morris and Professor Mark Sealy.
